Caden Laughing

Here is a precious video of Caden laughing really hard at Cody playing with Daisy. I was hiding behind the chair so he wouldn't see me and get distracted so it's not a great shot of him but you can hear him laughing. There's no sweeter sound!

My Little Musician

Cody is always playing his guitar for Caden and also gave him his first drum lesson :)

Caden 10 1/2 months

It's been awhile since I've updated. Caden is getting so big! Well I guess he's not really getting "big." He's still below the 3rd percentile for weight but the Dr said he's maintaining his weight so she's not concerned :)

He is crawling all over the place! He pulls up on everything and pulls down anything he can reach. I've already lost several glasses of water that I forgot to push back. He isn't standing on his own yet but he already wears me out chasing him around all day so I'm ok if he wants to wait a little longer for that. Poor baby is 10 1/2 months old and doesn't have a single tooth yet. He is teething and I can tell it won't be much longer for him.

We taught him how to throw Daisy's ball and now he throws everything he gets his hands on. It's so cute!

We did the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning for the second year in a row. Last year I was pregnant and this year Caden got to ride in the stroller.

We took Caden to see Santa at Bass Pro Shop. It was just a few days before Christmas so we knew we had to get there early to get a good spot in line. We were one of the first in line but we had to wait for almost an hour. Caden was tired of waiting and started to get very fussy but he the second he saw Santa he stopped fussing and was very intrigued. It was so cute!

Just a few more cute pictures of Caden during bath time. He takes "big boy" baths now and he LOVES being able to crawl around the tub playing with toys.

Time to baby proof!

It is really time to make sure this house is baby-proofed! We have done some things but we obviously need to do more.

Crawling

Caden is officially crawling! He has been really working on it for about 2 weeks now but the last few days he has actually started getting places by crawling. He is still wobbly and slow but everyday he gets a little better. I am nervous about this big change both of us are experiencing because my responsibility is greatly increasing. I am no longer able to just leave Caden in the living room to play with his toys for 15 minutes while I do laundry or dishes (I peek in on him every few minutes). He sleeps with us at night so I am going to have to be more aware of him when he wakes up so he doesn't find the edge of the bed. He loves putting dog toys in his mouth and now he will be able to find those nasty toys easier. But I am also very excited about this. It brings me so much joy to see him smile at me while he crawls and see how proud he is of his new accomplishment. I am both sad and joyful watching all the changes in just 7 months. I already miss my little newborn baby but I love watching him grow. Here is a little video of him crawling today. He gets distracted and falls but he still makes it to his goal.

I am so in love with this baby boy!

"da da"

Caden is 7 months old today! I can't believe how fast time has gone by. It seems like just yesterday I was holding my newborn. Today he started making the "da" sound on his own. Aunt Allison was over and after watching her for awhile he started copying her when she said "da da." Here is a little video.

Almost crawling!

Caden will be seven months tomorrow and he is trying so hard to crawl. Right now he gets around by rolling and scooting on his tummy. He pushes up on his hands and knees and then up onto his feet. I really need to get this house baby-proofed!! All of the plugs are safe but there are some cords we need to cover up. My life is about to drastically change. Right now I can sit Caden down in the living room while I get some stuff done and even though he rolls and scoots around I know he's not leaving the general area I sat him in. Once he starts crawling he'll be into everything, but I can't wait to see him learn this new trick! Here's a video I took of him this morning.
